The town of Hakuba has held a fascination for skiers from around the world since it played host to the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics. Hakuba is surrounded by the Northern Japan Alps and is a place where skiers, from beginners to experts, can come and enjoy skiing in one of 10 ski areas. Once winter's snows fade, Hakuba enjoys a lush green revival, transforming into one of Japan's premier summer destinations with plenty of exciting outdoor activities like whitewater rafting, bouldering, and climbing.
Hakuba is home to the well-known Hakuba Tokyu Hotel: a top-class resort-style hotel with a 50-year history. With superb views of the Northern Alps from the guest room balconies, lavish French and Japanese cuisine made using local ingredients, and a large public hot spring bath that leaves your skin feeling silky smooth, this elegant, modern European-style hotel allows guests to get the most out of their summer vacation.
To help guests from abroad get the absolute best out of Hakuba in summer, the Hakuba Tokyu Hotel runs an outdoor activities program with instructors from English-speaking countries.
