JAPANiCAN is ａ group company under JTB Corp., which was originally established in 1912 and is one of Japan's most trusted travel companies. The hotels and ryokan with which JTB has a contract form the JTB Contract Hotel Association, which held its general meeting a few days ago in Tokyo. The hotels and ryokan that are available for booking through JAPANiCAN have been selected from among these JTB-contracted hotels.

During the general meeting the recipients of the "Excellence in Service Ryokan and Hotels" award for the preceding fiscal year (April 2007 - March 2008) were announced. To receive this award is a great honor as only the hotels and ryokan which have been extremely highly evaluated are given the commendation. Commendations are based on the survey responses of customers who have booked and bought through the JTB group. Establishments are evaluated on the quality of their guest rooms, baths, food and hospitality. In all, 28 hotels and ryokan were selected this time around. (List below.)

All JTB-contracted hotels and ryokan, including the establishments which did not receive a commendation this time, are thinking of ways in which to satisfy their customers every day and will continue to make effort and give customers their attentive consideration. JTB group employees are also listening attentively to the voice of our customers in order to strive together with the hotels and ryokan to improve our service. For example if, by some chance, the quality of service to our customers were to deteriorate and then show no signs of improvement, JTB would cancel its contract with the establishment in question.
